Hip Hop Electronic, AKA Stuart Spade, is a local artist, breakbeat DJ/producer, father, and husband. He began his obsession with Hip Hop and Electronic Dance Music growing up in SLC during the ‘80s and ‘90s. At a time when MTV was still cool, rap was more conscious, and the sounds of electronic instruments were becoming more prominent. During this time, he also developed a love for the underground dance scene and its magic at getting many types of people together!

Because of this, proceeds from his art go towards paying DJs and music producers to spread the history and culture behind early hip hop and electronic dance music by writing about it on HipHopElectronic.com. He believes this helps us pay homage to the past while keeping the music moving forward and using modern artists to champion the roots of their passions.

He first moved to Moab in 2008 but took a little hiatus in Australia, where he met his Scottish wife and convinced her to move out into the middle of nowhere. They now live in a straw-bale house with their two children, where they all enjoy making art and music.
